Cecilia graduated as an osteopath from Victoria University in 2010 after being a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist for nine years. She initially set up her own massage business in 2003 where she worked alongside Dr Tim Taylor in Fairfield. Cecilia then decided to pursue her dreams and continue her studies in health science to become an osteopath.
In 2010, Cecilia started to work for Darling Corner Osteopathy with Dr Tim Taylor. Cecilia’s interest for osteopathy developed after having grown up with family who experienced chronic back injuries. For 12 years Cecilia continued to study at a university level and has completed a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science), Masters in Health Science (Human Nutrition), Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science) and a Masters of Health Science (Osteopathy).
Together with her multiple degrees and extensive clinical experience, Cecilia is able to incorporate all relevant aspects of her knowledge to provide patients with education about their bodies to promote a healthy lifestyle, support weight control and provide a holistic approach to treatment by using osteopathy as a preventative medicine. Cecilia also has two certificates in dry needling and cupping and likes to incorporate these techniques in her treatments, when required.
Cecilia has become increasingly interested in treating babies and children. She has continued with further studies in paediatric courses and is interested in paediatric musculoskeletal conditions that present in newborns. Cecilia enjoys educating children about awareness of their posture through their growth patterns, when using mobile phones/tablets, carrying school bags and when playing sports. She also treats adults of all ages with ongoing chronic musculoskeletal problems, acute sporting injuries, workplace injuries and any day-to-day aches and pains.
Cecilia enjoys promoting a healthy balanced lifestyle. She likes to go to the gym, attends boxing classes and enjoys lots of healthy cooking. Cecilia also likes to travel and relishes learning about different cultures and their languages. She speaks Italian fluently and has visited Italy on many occasions, where she met some osteopaths and continues to be in contact with them and their research.
